Vision, Goals and Values Completed

Last night the board finished the approval of the IGCEMA Vision, Goals and Values after many months of deliberation. I would like to thank the BOD for their dedication to getting this task accomplished and to Luke Spartalis who took our thoughts to a wordsmith in Australia to have them evaluated.

Vision


That IGCEMA members will be universally recognized for their:
• Commitment to the presentation of the game of golf and fine turf through the professional maintenance of equipment to ensure quality playing conditions.
• Vital role in the success of the golf operation.
• Authoritative, educated contribution to issues relating to turf equipment management.


Goals


• Create a highly-recognizable, properly-managed, trustworthy organization dedicated to our profession.
• To represent the interests of our members, the industry and the game at all levels and in all forums.
• Provide education and other career-development opportunities and continually elevate our professional standards.
• Develop a Certification Program.

• Pursuit of Excellence

Luke, I know you went to a lot of time, trouble and no little personal expense to give us a foundation with which to work on this very important part of the associations developement.

I would like to add my personal thanks to those of Stephen and John for your very valuable input.
The mission, Goals and Values we voted on yesterday will be around for a very long time and you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you played a major part in their wording.

Stephen, you did a great job of organising the board the way you did, if it hadn't been for the way it was organised I think we would still be deliberating.
