Preperation for South Africa

Well after a little over a month of preparing IGCEMA is ready for the trip to South Africa. Originally Mike Kriz, our Secretary/Treasurer, was planned to attend but due to scheduling conflicts was unable to do so. So then John Patterson offered to go with myself as a back up if John's passport didn't arrive in time for scheduling the flight and knowing our system here you could expect he didn't receive it in time. So with that I will be attending the Road Show and am very excited to have the opportunity to do so.
While scheduling the trip with Dean Cleaver from FEGGA I have planned to make a stop off in London, England to visit a few of our members as well as to gain a tour of the Bernhard & Co. Factory. I will be visiting with Patrick Callaby on Friday at the Celtic Manor Resort (host of the 2010 Ryder Cup) followed by a tour of the Bernhard Facility. From there I will be arranging some time with John Tutchen possibly to explore the game of cricket ( which I have no idea what I am getting into). I will leave on Saturday evening to Cape Town, South Africa where we will be putting on a presentation on Monday. Then Monday Evening we will be taking off to Durban, South Africa where we will attend meetings and possibly a golf outing before our presentation on Wednesday. Wednesday evening we will take a flight to Johannesburg, South Africa where we will put on a presentation on Thursday. On Friday morning we will possibly play a round of golf before my departure that evening and I will return back home on Saturday for, I would assume, a much needed rest before Monday's back to work.
The IGCEMA is very excited about being able to spread our offerings more and more throughout the world and to continue bringing in membership from all over the globe. We are looking forward to this trip as well as many others in the future as we continue to grow and attempt to continue working to develop the Turf Equipment Technician profession.
