To commemorate the completion of our new industry standard Certificate
Program, the IGCEMA is announcing a contest for those who successfully
complete all six program tests in calendar year 2012. The prize will be a free
trip to the Golf Industry Show in San
Diego February 6-7, 2013; including airfare, hotel
room, and show passes. The contest is open to anyone who attains certificates
in all six competencies: Internal Combustion Engines, Hydraulic Systems &
Troubleshooting, Electrical Systems & Troubleshooting, Driveline Systems, Sprayer
Systems, Calibration & Troubleshooting, and Cutting Unit Theory &
Operation. Those who are eligible will enter a random drawing for the prize,
and the winner will be announced the first week in January.
IGCEMA President John Patterson stated: "We are thrilled to
offer this contest as an added incentive for technicians to complete the
program, and I hope we can make this an annual challenge.”
Industry response to the IGCEMA Certificate Program for turf equipment
technicians has been great, with many taking advantage of the ability to
complete certificate testing at work or home through the Proctor U service. The
IGCEMA recently announced the completion of the Certificate Program with the
addition of the Cutting Unit Theory & Operation study guide.
